{"id":17026,"date":"2024-09-12T13:35:44","date_gmt":"2024-09-12T17:35:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arundel.ca\/?p=17026"},"modified":"2024-09-16T19:48:25","modified_gmt":"2024-09-16T23:48:25","slug":"first-responder-service-update-september-12-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arundel.ca\/en\/first-responder-service-update-september-12-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"FIRST RESPONDER SERVICE \u2013 UPDATE"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pf-content\"><h5>Press release &#8211; Arundel &#8211; September 12, 2024<\/h5>\n<p>It is with regret that we have learned of the decision by the municipalities of Montcalm, Huberdeau and Barkmere not to renew the <em>Inter-municipal Agreement for the provision of first responder services<\/em> (the <strong>Agreement<\/strong>) with Arundel, <strong>effective January 1, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Under this annually renewable agreement, Arundel has been providing <strong><u>level 3<\/u><\/strong> first responder service to these three municipalities, since 2010. Level 3 interventions make up the majority of our service&#8217;s work.<\/p>\n<p>We respect their wish to <em>adhere to the <strong><u>level 2<\/u><\/strong> First Responder Program<\/em> submitted by the fire Department of the City of Mont-Tremblant (SSI), as mentioned in the Montcalm and Huberdeau resolutions dated August 12 and 13.<\/p>\n<p>(For a description of first responder service levels see : <a href=\"https:\/\/ccsll.org\/notre-entreprise\/partenaires\/premiers-repondants\/\">https:\/\/ccsll.org\/notre-entreprise\/partenaires\/premiers-repondants\/<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>We are aware of the importance of this first-response service for our population, while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.<\/p>\n<p>The Municipality of Arundel is currently in the process of negotiating a new service provision agreement with other neighbouring municipalities, some of which have been interested for many years in being served by our quality first responder service.
