Ray Sealey – Singer, song writer, guitarist

“America and Me”

Ray has spent much time in the United States over the last several years and will relate some of that experience and his reflections by performing historical American songs and original compositions.

Ray was born in England and did a degree in English Literature after emigrating to Canada. He was involved in folk music in his early years but then turned to classical guitar. He eventually taught music at the university level and then became involved in arts management. He produced concerts in Gatineau, co-founded a music festival in La Petite Nation, and spent nine years as Executive Director of the CAAMAC Music Centre. Following that, he served as Executive Director of the chamber orchestra I Musici de Montréal for two years.

He has now returned to those early folk roots and spends winter in the US where most of his performances have taken place. He has twice won song-writing prizes at the Will McLean Festival in Florida and released his latest CD “Stones in my Shoe” in 2015.
